On 11 November 2019, upon the invitation of The Law Society of Hong Kong, our firm’s Partner Mr. Stanley Chan delivered a RME course on ‘Risk of Lawyers Publishing Articles on Legal Issues’. Attendance were lawyers who are interested in publishing articles in the Law Society’s weekly column of Sing Tao Daily.

During the session, Mr. Chan introduced three main legal risks, namely, incorrect law, defamation and plagiarism, and talked about relevant rules and possible legal consequences in relation to the publication of articles.  He strongly advised that when publishing articles, lawyers shall commit to accuracy, fairness and credibility so as to provide with a professional and proper legal knowledge to the readers.
