Invited by the Foreign Legal Professional Committee of the Guangzhou Lawyers Association (“FLPC”), our firm’s partner Mr. Stanley Chan attended the “Alternative Dispute Resolution and Legal Issues Concerning International Commercial Disputes” Salon, jointly held by FLPC and the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Legal Professional Committee on 3 January 2021.

As one of the guest speakers in the salon, Mr. Chan spoke about arbitration framework and foundation in Hong Kong, including the laws and relevant institutions in relation thereto, the pros and cons of Hong Kong arbitration and its enforcement, as well as the current trend of online arbitration in China. Even though Mr. Chan is not able to visit the scene and has to attend by Tencent Meeting due to current border restrictions between the Mainland and Hong Kong, both Mr. Chan and the participants had an interactive discussion and great exchange of ideas were made in the Q&A section.

As one of the world’s leading arbitration centers, Hong Kong has a mature arbitration system and professional arbitrators. We have strong faith in Hong Kong arbitration, and look forward to the development of it and how it will blossom with the Greater Bay Area.
