In the afternoon of 14 April 2023, in order to actively strengthen the cooperation between our Firm and our partner Guangdong Kingbridge Law Firm (‘Kingbridge’), a delegation of 18 lawyers and staff headed by our Partners Stanley Chan, Franky Fung, Artemis Szeto, Andy Tse and Crystal Chan visited Kingbridge’s headquarter situated in the heart of Guangzhou – The Zhujiang New Town. Our delegation was warmly received by Kingbridge’s NIE Weiguo (Party Secretary, Director), MO Zhe (Executive Director) along with other VIPs and held a discussion session.
With the resumption of ordinary exchanges between Guangdong and Hong Kong, we are confident that the said discussion session would tighten our bonds and cooperation for providing more professional and quality legal services to clients from both Guangdong and Hong Kong. Our Partner Mr. Stanley CHAN expressed that both parties should take advantage of this visit to create more opportunities to further strengthen and deepen our cooperation while make good use of the platform of the joint-venture law firm established by Guangdong Kingbridge, Sun Lawyers LLP and Macau Kuong Lok Kao Advogados. Kingbridge’s Director Nie also expressed, on behalf of everyone at Kingbridge, that our partnership is of high importance and both parties shall strive in-
arms with our respective strengths.
After the discussion session, the delegation visited the tallest building of Guangzhou – Canton Tower.
In the morning of 15 April 2023, the delegation visited Kingbridge Sun Kuong (Nansha) Law Firm (“KSK”) where we are warmly received by KSK’s Ms ZENG Minhua (Party Secretary, lawyer), 15 other lawyers and staff. Notably, most lawyers of our delegation are also posted to KSK in capacity as Hong Kong lawyers.
During the meeting, with initiation of our Partner Mr. Franky Fung and KSK’s Mr. LIU Yanlin, Hong Kong lawyers and PRC lawyers introduced their respective law firm, area of expertise and the difference of respective jurisdictions. Both parties expressed their aspirations of the future together while discussed the possibilities of further cooperations in-depth and effectively proposed solutions to practical problems such as service of legal documents.
During the visit, KSK’s Ms. ZENG invited the delegation to the office area and cultural wall of KSK, and the home to KSK – the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Cooperation Demonstration Base in Nansha Chuangxiang Wan. Afterwards, with kind invitation from friends of KSK, the delegation had the pleasure to experience and dined in a local farm-style restaurant while we further strengthen our bonds for better cooperations.
As the last part of the trip to Guangzhou, the delegation visited Nansha Waterfowl World Ecological Park and enjoyed the beauty of nature. Eventually, we returned to Hong Kong via Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge giving us the opportunity of appreciating the prosperity of the Great Bay Area and the rapid advancement of our mother nation.
